Ricky Berger, CEO, Network President: Musician, attorney, and entrepreneur. Ricky has served as the VP of Business and Legal Affairs for the on-line independent musician-empowerment site Nimbit, Inc. and since 1998 had represented its predecessor “ADA” a/k/a Artist Development Associates. Ricky has also served as General Counsel of MTI-Milliren Techologies, Inc., Vermont Bread Company , and Eikos, Inc.
Prior to starting his own firm, Ricky was an associate in the the then-leading Boston law firm of Gaston & Snow where his practice was concentrated in the litigation of sophisticated intellectual property and close corporation cases.Ricky has served on advisory boards for private companies and is a past Program Committee Chair for the WPI Venture Forum serving the needs of entrepreneurs to organize themselves properly to attract and obtain financing, as well as to poise themselves to succeed and grow. In all his business affairs, Ricky has to date closed an estimated $70MM in transactions. Ricky is also an Adjunct Professor of UMASS Lowell where he teaches Publishing and Copyright law.
Ricky’s education includes Natick High School, Natick, MA (1978, President of the High School Concert Choir, Member of the National Honor Society, All-state Jazz Guitarist, Lead Role (the “Lion”) in the NHS production of “The Wizard of Oz”), Musical Director of the 1978 Senior Class Play); Berklee College of Music (1978-1979 in Applied Instrument); UMASS Amherst (B.A. Philosophy 1983, graduating Magna Cum Laude); New England School of Law (J.D. 1986, graduating 6th in his class and Summa Cum Laude, Managing Editor of the Law Review, co-President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, National American Jurisprudence Awards in Constitutional Law and Real Estate (1983)). The first of three children from entrepreneurial parents, Ricky has always been extremely competitive and a high achiever.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Ricky is an avid Harley rider and student of the martial arts.
